Playworks Metro Boston is maximizing recess to bring safe, meaningful play to 14,000 students in 32 elementary schools across the Metro Boston area. Playworks Metro Boston is part of a national non-profit organization that's rescuing recess every day.
Playworks supports classroom teaching and learning in Boston by providing safe, healthy, and inclusive play and physical activity to schools at recess and throughout the entire school day. No other organization matches our experience transforming play and recess into tools to support learning.
Research shows that play is essential to child development and an invaluable tool for improving school climate. Playworks’ success in Boston public schools demonstrates how high quality recess helps children return to the classroom focused and ready to learn.
