Effective Date:  January  26, 2012

SUMMARY

AltrUHelp (the “Company,” “we,” or “us”) owns and operates the AltrUHelp.com website (the Site), which is hosted in the United States.  The purpose of this Online Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) is to help the Site’s users (“you,” “your” or “Users”) understand how we collect and use data about your visit to the Site.  As is explained in more detail below, the Site may collect certain “personally identifiable information,” which refers to any information that can be used to uniquely identify you as an individual (“Personal Information”).  Examples of Personal Information include your name, address, email address, telephone number, employer and certain other information that can be used to personally identify you.  We understand the importance of protecting our Users’ Personal Information and we are very committed to ensuring your privacy.

In order to better protect your privacy, the Company has designed the Policy to explain our practices regarding information collected or submitted through the Site.  Please note that the Policy only applies to information collected by the Site – it does not apply to activities that are “offline” or unrelated to AltrUHelp.com.  For example, third party websites may treat your Personal Information differently than we do.  We encourage you to review the privacy policies posted on such websites before providing any third parties with access to your Personal Information.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We may collect two general types of information through the Site:  Personal Information and anonymous or “aggregate” data regarding the usage of the website (collectively, “Aggregate Information”).  Whereas Personal Information can be used to uniquely identify Users, Aggregate Information cannot be linked to a specific person, either by itself or in combination with other information.  Examples of Aggregate Information that we may collect include the type of internet browser that you are using to access the Site, your IP address, and the amount of time that you spend visiting the Site.  We collect this information to enhance the Site’s performance and improve the quality of the services that we offer to Users.

The Site may also collect certain Personal Information (such as your name, address, email address, telephone number, employer or other identifying information), but only to the extent that you voluntarily choose to provide us with this information.  For example, the Site collects Personal Information that you submit regarding your current employer and basic contact information when you choose to create an account.  The Site may also collect Personal Information that you choose to submit in order to create a broader profile for your account or to inquire about the Company’s services.  In all such cases, the decision to submit Personal Information belongs exclusively you.  However, certain portions of the Site may not be available to you and/or we may not be able to properly respond to your inquiries or requests if you do not provide us Personal Information requested by the Site.

COOKIES

“Cookies” are small pieces of data cached or stored on your computer based your Internet activity.  The Site may use cookies to monitor individual activity in the aggregate, which allows us to improve the quality of the Site and the services that we offer to Users.  For example, cookies allow the Site to recognize you during subsequent visits and can provide valuable information to the Company regarding how Users navigate the Site.

Most internet browsers are automatically set up to accept cookies.  You do have the option to reset these settings and refuse future cookies, but you should be aware that doing so may prevent you from accessing certain portions of the Site and taking advantage of some of the services that we offer.  You can learn more about cookies by accessing the “help” menu in your browser’s toolbar.

USE AND DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION

The Site collects Personal Information from Users in order to provide you with requested services.  For example, we may collect Personal Information from you to respond to your inquiry, to create a profile for your account with us, or to assist with customer service requests.  We may also use your Personal Information for our own marketing purposes.  In addition, we use Aggregate Information to improve the Site and to enhance the quality of the services that we offer to our Users.  The Company may share Aggregate Information with third parties (e.g., community service organizations), but this information will not be directly linked to you as an individual.

We do not sell or rent Personal Information collected on the Site to third parties.  However, certain third party organizations will be able to access the Personal Information that you voluntarily submit in order to create an account with us.  This allows the Company to connect you with community service opportunities that match your stated interests and the relevant community’s needs.  You can control the amount of information that is shared in this manner by choosing what Personal Information you include in your profile.

The Company may share your Personal Information with our trusted third party service providers, but only to the extent necessary to perform their services.  Our service providers are contractually obligated not to use your Personal Information for any other purposes or to share this information with any unauthorized third parties.

We may be required to disclose your Personal Information in order to respond to a subpoena, court order, law enforcement request, or to otherwise comply with applicable laws and regulations.  In addition, the Company may share your Personal Information with a third party if we file for bankruptcy or if there is a change in corporate ownership in connection with a proposed or consummated corporate organization (e.g., a merger or acquisition).

The Company has implemented appropriate physical, electronic and administrative safeguards that allow us to manage the privacy of your Personal Information and the security of the Site.  However, we cannot guarantee the security of any information that is disclosed online.
